Minister of Culture Monica Babuc in visit at the National Center of Cinematography and the Moving Image in Paris

Today, 18th of March 2016, Minister of Culture Monica Babuc visited the National Center of Cinematography and the Moving Image in Paris.

 

During discussions with representatives of the CNC from France, Monica Babuc expressed satisfaction for constructive and good cultural relations and that exist between the Republic of Moldova and France. „Cinema is preferred domain where the Moldovan-French cultural affinities are vibrant, so that French film has a widespread popularity in the Republic of Moldova” Official said. Minister of Culture gave examples of the recent successful collaborations in cinematographic co-productions filed. In 2015 with the support of the French and the German Embassy in the Republic of Moldova it was realized a project named „Retour a Moldova Film”, where there were involved French, German and Moldovan specialists. During the launching of the “Paparude” film, result of the project, among experts took place a debate concerned on the state policy in the cinema field and also on the other collaboration opportunities.

 

In the same time, the Moldovan Dignitary showed her interest for working mode and good practices of the National Centre of Cinematography and the Moving Image from Paris that represent for the Republic of Moldova an important source of inspiration in formation of the National Cinematography Center in Chișinău. In this context, it was proposed the possible examination of organization of a study visit of the NCC employees from the Republic of Moldova with the aim to exchange experience at the French Centre and also it was demanded an expertise of French colleagues concerning the mode of preservation and promotion of the cinematography archive of the Republic Moldova.

 

Also, it was discussed the topic concerning the facilitation of Moldovan-French partnerships at the chapter of collaboration in the cinematographic co-productions field and film festivals in the EU Programme „Creative Europe”.

 

At the end of the discussions it was expressed the mutual conviction concerning the necessity to continue such projects that mainly aim both to train young professionals and co-productions. It was decided to elaborate an agreement between those two cinematography Centers, which will be approved subsequently by both sides, to establish punctually the collaborative activities between those two institutions.
