On May 5, 2016, Minister of Culture Monica Babuc had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Moldova Mohammed bin Ali Mohammed Al-Maliki.

During the meeting parties discussed about perspectives of development of cultural and artistic exchanges, remarking the potential of the bilateral cooperation on different levels of the culture field.

Mainly, discussions were focused on the inauguration of an exhibition of artists from Qatar in the Republic of Moldova with the perspective to organize a similar action of the Moldovan plastic artists in Qatar. In context, those two artists who were present at the meeting, Yousef Ahmad and Abdul Rasoul Salman, remarked the cultural values diversity of our country, showing their interest to collaborate in this area with artists from Moldova.

Minister of Culture Monica Babuc appreciated the Qatari Officials openness and support in the development of the bilateral cultural activities. The Official expressed her support in organizing cultural exchanges, noting the possibility of enhancing bilateral relations through exchange of information on the organization of common cultural projects and actions as well as art exhibitions and crafts, important international cultural events.

In turn, H.E. Mohammed Al-Maliki expressed his availability to expand cooperation in the culture field, expressing plenary support in the intensification of common cultural projects and actions.
