Deputy Minister of Culture Igor Șarov had a working visit in Georgia

Deputy Minister of Culture Igor Șarov was in a working visit in Georgia during the period of 15th till 17th of July, 2015 at the invitation of leaders of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia. The dignitary was accompanied by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Andrei Chistol.

 

During the visit, Deputy Minister Igor Șarov had a meeting with Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, Mikheil Giorgadze. Talks were focused on the development of bilateral cooperation in the culture field, setting common priorities for cooperation within the Eastern Partnership, creating a common framework of cooperation between cultural operators from Moldova and Georgia to access projects in the program "Creative Europe", the finalization of procedures of signing the Program of cultural cooperation between those two countries.

 

Also, the Moldovan official had a meeting with his Georgian counterpart, George Bacradze, where they discussed about the relations of the Ministry with subordinate institutions, the financing mechanism of cultural projects developed by the subordinate organizations, as well as the monitoring and assessment mechanism of the activity of these institutions.

 

During the visit were organized meetings with several directors of cultural departments and institutions to take best Georgian practices on creating the national registry of trades, the implementation of the "Creative Europe" Program, cinematographic activity developed by the Georgian National Film Centre, promoting activities of the Georgian culture, as well as the program of activities preparatory of the National Book Centre for International Book Exhibition from Frankfurt (Germany) in 2018, where Georgia will be the guest country of honor. Moldovan officials were presented at the rehearsal of the National Dance Ensemble of Georgia "Sukhishvili".

 

A particular attention was focused on arts education field and specialists training from Georgia. Thus, were organized meetings with the representatives of the State Academy of Arts after Apollo Kutateladze, the State Conservatory "Vano Saradjivili" and the State University of Theatre and Cinema "Shota Rustaveli", being established a series of bilateral projects to ensure the participation at the „Erasmus Plus” and „Creative Europe” Programs.

 

Another topic of discussion was focused on cultural heritage domain and implementation of the international projects in this sector. Deputy Minister of Culture Igor Șarov met with Director of the Cultural Heritage Agency, Nicoloy Antoidze and with Director of National Museum, David Lordchipanidze, institutions that have implemented two projects TWINING. The parties highly appreciated the results of those two projects and have agreed to hold consultations in the field of cultural heritage on the legislative and educational segment, specialist formation and administration of cultural heritage by organizing study visits of specialists from Moldova at the restoration of building-sites in Georgia.

 

In the same time, it was organized a visit in Mţheta with the aim to inspect the monuments that are included in the representative list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, where will be shared the success and experience of Georgia in nomination procedures formalization for UNESCO of national cultural objectives.
