Minister of Culture Monica Babuc met today, on January 19, the conductor of the Vienna Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Friedrich Pfeiffer, to discuss issue on the organization of a new edition of the open air classical music Festival - “descOPERĂ” at the cultural-natural Reserve “Old Orhei”.
During the talks, Monica Babuc remarked the success of this unique cultural event for our society, which premiere took place last year at the cultural-natural Reserve “Old Orhei”. The official expressed her gratitude for the exceptional performance of the Austrian conductor in the spectacles that fascinated audiences through a harmonious joining of classical music with a natural amphitheater.
Also, Friedrich Pfeiffer thanked for the support of the Ministry of Culture that he enjoyed last year, confessing that it was an honor to evolve in the presence of a large audience, in a unique rural space, such as cultural-natural Reserve “Old Orhei”.
During the meeting, the parties discussed various technical and logistical aspects on the Festival organization, the development of the classical music events into open air being a difficult task through choosing right space which will offer exceptional acoustic conditions.
The first edition of the open air classical music Festival - “descOPERĂ” took place on June 4-5, 2016 and it was organized under patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova. Grandiose performances - opera „Rigoletto” and vocal-symphonic creation „Messa da Requiem” by Giuseppe Verdi, there were sustained by 14 soloists and orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet „Maria Bieșu”, including of 70 instrumentalists and 100 choir artists.
