Acting Minister of Culture Monica Babuc took part at the session of the Administrative Council of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund (IHCF) of the CIS

Acting Minister of Culture Monica Babuc participated, today, on December 15, 2015, at the joint session of the Administrative Council of the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund (IHCF) of the CIS, which took place in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation. At the session were presented both the Head of the Foundation and the Head of the Culture Ministers of the CIS countries.

 

Discussions focused on the Fund's activity from the recent years, being approved a lot of documents concerning the cultural projects sustained in 2015. Also, there were established priorities of activity and targets of IHCF for 2016-2017 years.

 

At the session, Acting Minister of Culture, Monica Babuc presented information about actions that took place in the Republic of Moldova in common with the Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS, thanking for their contribution to the achievement. Moldovan Dignitary spoke about international cultural events that are organized in the country and their importance both nationally and globally, proposing to support in 2016 The International Music Festival "Mărțișor". The proposal was accepted unanimously, officials noting the significance of this prestigious cultural project that is reached at the jubilee of 50 years. Monica Babuc launched an invitation to his counterparts to participate next year at the "Mărţişor" Festival to share the mood of the event.

 

Also, Acting Minister of Culture had today a meeting with the Executive Director of Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS, Anatoly Iksanov, where parties discussed about the projects realized together till present and the perspectives of extending and strengthening bilateral cooperation from the field.

 

The Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund of the CIS was created to finance and implement projects in the field of humanitarian cooperation. The Fund mission is to contribute to create a common humanitarian space and set up an intercultural dialogue in education, science, culture, communications, sports and tourism domains. The Republic of Moldova adhered in May 2014 at this interstate structure, but realized before to this date several projects with the IHCF support, including fourth edition of the Intellectual Forum, the opening of the virtual lecture hall at the National Library, Summer School of archaeologists and restorers etc.
