Today, on September 19, 2016, the Deputy Minister of Culture Gheorghe Postică met the Deputy Minister of Culture of China, Ding Wei. The meeting took place in the Dunhuang city from China in the context of participation of the Republic of Moldovan delegation at the First International Cultural Exhibition "Silk Road" which will be held in Dunhuang, China, during the period of 20-21 September, this year.

 

During the talks the officials appreciated the high cultural cooperation between those two countries, culture being a priority field in this cooperation. Deputy Minister Gheorghe Postică thanked the Ministry of Culture of China for its support in promoting several cultural projects in the Republic of Moldova, reminding that in the last years, it has become traditional that various artistic groups from China to participate into a lot of cultural meetings from the Republic of Moldova. The official had underlined the participation of the famous Group of Chinese dancers that it is composed of persons with disabilities „China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe” at the International Music Festival “Mărțișor”, 2014 edition, but also the participation of the Jiangsu Women's National Orchestra in the current edition of the Festival, for the possibility offered to public from the Republic of Moldovan to admire Chinese culture. In context, Gheorghe Postică mentioned the very good relations with the Chinese Embassy in Chisinau

 

In his turn, Deputy Minister of Culture of Chinese, Ding Wei, appreciated cultural exchanges between the Republic of Moldova and China from recent years, thanking for the invitation of Chinese artistic groups at the most important cultural events from our country. Chinese dignitary launched the invitation for cultural actors from the Republic of Moldova to participate at the important festivals in Chinese, such as Shanghai International Festival, Silk Road Festival etc. In the same time, Deng Wei said that in 2017 year China will be present at the International Festival of Music "Mărțișor" with a new artistic collective and given that we will celebrate 25 years of Moldovan-Chinese diplomatic relations, they will supports a lot of cultural events.  

 

At the end of discussion, Deputy Minister of Culture Gheorghe Postică had invited his Chinese homologous Ding Wei to make a visit to the Republic of Moldova.

 

We mention that the Republic of Moldova participates with a stand of traditional carpets of the Ecaterinei Popescu’s collection, founder of the Complex of folk crafts "Artă rustică" and costumes of the Maria Cristea’s collection, founder of Popular Suit House "Casa Cristea", and both folk craftswomen being present at the event. The exhibition consists of representatives from 58 countries and regions, 5 international organizations, 19 cities twinned with Dunhuang city.
